For the seventh consecutive year, the Champagne harvest was voluminous. Such a long series has never been seen in the vineyard, one of the northernmost in the world.
It is under the rather favourable climatic conditions that the vine was able to give an abundant harvest. A mild and rainy winter, followed by a sunny spring and a warm summer. At the end of July, temperatures exceeded 37°, a scorching year.
But various accidents did not fail to disrupt the course of the vegetative cycle of the grapes. The Côte des Blancs was hit in March and April by the cold, which destroyed the buds that came out hastily. The health status subsequently deteriorated sharply with warm but rainy periods that favoured the appearance of diseases such as powdery mildew, mildew and botrytis. Preventive actions and targeted control have savec much of the crop.
A spring count averaged 16 grapes per foot, which continued to grow until early September to an average of 125 grams per grapes.
